Psychoeducational Assessments

  • Usually indicated when a student is struggling at school, in order to help determine the reason(s) why, and to establish effective strategies and supports. These assessments may Identify learning disabilities, ADHD, and other factors affecting academic performance. This may include recommendation for a designation and an individualized education plan (IEP). Learn more here.

Neuropsychological Assessments

  • Often indicated when there is a known neurological disorder or event (e.g., traumatic brain injury, stroke) and can also be useful to support individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders (e.g., autism, epilepsy, cerebral palsy). Neuropsychological assessments may be used to confirm eligibility for disability services (e.g., Community Living BC), and may also be used in a medical-legal context. Learn more here.

Mental Health Assessments

  • These assessments examine mental health and personality, and do not typically involve cognitive or academic testing. They may be used for diagnostic clarification, and to help prioritize treatments. They may assess for conditions such as anxiety, depression, OCD, trauma, and ADHD.
